Event Details

Born on the East Coast, and home to the West, Blair Borax’s musical journey began unexpectedly in 2016, when a friend gifted her a cheap guitar.

Since then, Borax has become a prolific songwriter, recording artist, and performer, known for her distinctive voice, captivating melodies, and thoughtful songwriting that taps into the heart of being human. Since she quit her day job in 2022,  she has released two full length albums and played over 300 shows across the country.

With more sophisticated songwriting, a newfound confidence in fingerpicking guitar, and a move towards dynamic acoustic folk production, her latest record, “Tender Lately” (2024),  offers gentle reminders to quiet the inner critic, find joy in the small things, and embrace the precious brevity of our time on Earth.

Reformed commercial fisherman and singer-songwriter Alex Dunn recently left Seattle and relocated to the rural outskirts of Aztec, New Mexico.  Dunn uses his own personal blend of Folk/Americana to reflect on the many lives he's led, from his youth along the border of Colorado and Wyoming to the quiet moments aboard commercial fishing vessels in the remote waters of Southeast Alaska.  Melodic sawdust and salt air, his music breathes with a sense of place, yet is imminently accessible and speaks to the universal.  His debut record Scattered Poems  was recorded in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington and released in the fall of 2018 - an elegant and timeless debut, graced by the talents of some of the Northwest’s finest roots musicians including Anna Tivel, Eli West, Sam Esecson and Birch Pereira.

Partnering with the label Color Red, he released his sophomore LP Southern Star on 12/3/21 - which he recorded with his band at Avast Recording Company and co-produced alongside multi-instrumentalist Bryant Moore.

Coletrain Music Academy presents a Tiny Deck Concert Series featuring a rotating lineup of incredible artists. These intimate acoustic concerts take place at the Cedar Street Retreat and offers artists and guests a casual listening room experience with opportunities to mix and mingle both before the show and during intermission.
